Works are created on carefully selected fine-art papers according to the medium and the project. The choice of paper contributes directly to the final rendering, the depth of the values and the conservation quality of the artwork.

All proposed formats are available on white paper. For the 9 × 12 inch format (22.9 × 30.5 cm), a selection of grey or beige-toned papers is also available.

Oil paintings are created on professional-quality canvas, prepared to receive the painting and ensure a durable presentation of the artwork.

Before placing an order, it is essential to determine the format that best suits the space intended to receive the artwork. Taking precise measurements of the available space is therefore recommended, so that the proportions and presence of the artwork can be considered harmoniously within its surroundings.

Each canvas is created to order according to the format, composition and nature of the project. Dimensions are determined before the quotation is established.

1. Submission of your request

Submit your project via the contact form, indicating the type of artwork, desired format and number of subjects. For a work based on a person, animal or specific image, please include clear, high-quality reference photographs with your request.

2. Project assessment

Each request is considered individually to confirm the possibilities of the project, its requirements and the quotation.

3. Waiting list registration

Once the project has been accepted, a place is reserved in the commission schedule according to studio availability.

4. Creation

When the scheduled period for your project arrives, the artwork is created entirely by hand according to the chosen medium, format and project specifications.

5. Shipping

Once completed, the artwork is carefully protected and prepared for shipping according to its medium and format.

They vary according to the studio’s workload, the nature and complexity of the project, as well as the level of detail required. Each creation therefore advances according to the time it needs, with care and exacting standards.

When an artwork is chosen according to methods and working principles rooted in the past, it is only natural to respect the time required to create it. The materials, gestures, nuances and finishes cannot be rushed without compromising the very quality that makes the work exceptional.

Each pastel portrait is delivered without fixative, a deliberate choice made out of profound respect for this noble medium. Pastel is a living material: it captures light unlike any other medium, and its velvety softness lies precisely in the freedom of its surface. Applying a fixative would alter this subtle luminosity, darken the lighter tones and diminish the richness of its carefully layered surfaces.

It is in order to preserve this purity that many professional artists choose to deliver their works in their natural state, intact and luminous, exactly as they were created in the studio.

Each piece is carefully packaged and protected to prevent any direct contact with the surface during transport. Once the artwork has been received, simply avoid touching the surface and opt for framing under glass, ideally with a mat, to preserve its beauty over time.

CLIMATE
Humidity and significant temperature fluctuations can affect paper and pigments over time. A stable environment helps preserve the artwork in good condition.

LIGHT
Prolonged exposure to light, particularly UV rays, can gradually alter certain pigments and cause fading. Controlled exposure helps preserve the nuances and richness of the colours.

ENVIRONMENT
Dust, humidity and insects, particularly those attracted to paper fibres, can contribute to deterioration over time. Household products, solvents, smoke and other airborne particles can also deposit substances on the surface or gradually penetrate the fibres.

FRAMING

Protective glass is an essential precaution for preserving the surface of the artwork and shielding it from external elements. Plexiglass, although lightweight and practical, can generate a static charge that may attract unfixed pigments, particularly in charcoal and pastel. For these mediums, glass therefore remains the safest choice for long-term preservation.
