Illustration

 Imaginary worlds in chiaroscuro

Each illustration is born from an inhabited sketch, shaped in the tradition of ateliers where drawing was both study and accomplished art.

Charcoal silhouettes, visions in black stone, dreamlike scenes in pastel or pencil: every line restores an atmosphere, a memory, a story.

These works evoke the soul of architectures, landscapes, and characters, recalling a time when the drawn image was both witness and storyteller.

The Time of Art

In an era where almost everything seems to be available with a single click, it is essential to remember that some creations cannot, and should not, be rushed.

A portrait is not an Amazon Prime parcel: it isn’t printed on demand, it is built slowly, with patience, and depth.

Every piece created in the studio is entirely handcrafted, from the very first pencil line to the final touch of light. Each portrait is conceived as a unique work, meant to capture a presence, an emotion, a bond, and that takes time. This is not simply about fulfilling an order, but about giving life to an image that carries a piece of soul and will accompany its owner for a lifetime.

Because quality will never be sacrificed for the sake of speed, creation times may occasionally extend beyond the initial estimate. They vary depending on the number of pending commissions, the complexity of the project, or particularly busy periods in the studio. Each portrait thus progresses at a pace that guarantees its excellence and depth.

Creating a personalized work of art cannot be planned like an express delivery it is an artistic process that requires attention, listening, and meticulous care. And it is precisely this deliberate slowness that gives rise to authentic, living, and enduring pieces.

The patience and trust of collectors are the silent allies of every creation that has a soul.

Enhancement

Once received, your artwork can be protected and elevated with custom framing or a gallery frame, depending on your preference.

Time Completes Its Work

Creation on Paper

Acquiring a work of art is often love at first sight. When you fall artistically in love, you want your acquisition to keep its beauty forever. All creations have their own temporality: to help them age gracefully, give them the best chances to resist what makes them vulnerable.

Your paper artwork, enhanced by a frame, will not only be showcased but also carefully preserved against the wear of time.

Pastel: why it is not fixed

Each pastel portrait is delivered without fixative, a deliberate and deeply respectful choice for this noble medium. Pastel is a living material: it captures light like no other, and its velvety softness exists precisely because its surface remains free. Applying fixative would alter that subtle luminosity, darken lighter tones, and diminish the richness of carefully layered work.

For this reason, many professional artists choose to deliver their works in their natural, untouched state, exactly as they were shaped in the studio.

Each piece is carefully packaged and protected to prevent any direct contact with the surface during shipping. Once received, it is simply recommended to avoid touching it and to frame it under glass, ideally with a mat, to preserve its beauty over time.

A Little Science

  • Climate – Humidity and temperature directly affect the stability of paper. Hygroscopic, it absorbs and releases water from the air: with humidity it expands and warps, while in overly dry conditions, it contracts and weakens.

  • Light – Exposure must be carefully controlled. Intense or direct light can damage fibers and fade pigments. To protect your artwork, use UV-protective glass.

  • Environment – Dust, humidity, and insects (especially those attracted to paper) can cause damage. Cleaning products, solvents, smoke, and other vapors can also permeate fibers.

  • Framing – Protective glass is recommended to safeguard the surface of the artwork. Plexiglass, though lightweight, generates static electricity that attracts loose pigments (charcoal, pastel, glossy prints). In these cases, glass remains the safest choice.
